Encouraging our employees and our clients to protect the environment
We try to raise the awareness of all our staff and that of our distributors regarding environmental matters with our daily actions and by offering training on new products or more environmentallyfriendly products. This way, we allow them to contribute directly to the protection of the environment with their acts and indirectly by promoting environmentally-safe products to our customers.
Product policy
 In 2010, A. B. Warehouse decided to contribute to reducing air pollution by offering you VOC-free paints.
Our paints are in accordance to Canadian regulations with regards to VOC contents. Painters are then able to work in better and healthier conditions while contributing to the protection of the environment and these paints perform as well as paints that produced VOCs. VOC-free or VOC-less paints are therefore a good choice for the planet and the quality of your work as well as for your customers’ satisfaction.

What are VOCs?
This symbol means Volatile Organic Compounds; their fumes cause direct health damages to people exposed to them and indirect damages to the environment by contributing to the degradation of the ozone layer.
In Quebec, there are 163 referenced VOCs either banned or controlled in commercial
products. In general, alkyd-based paints (that can be diluted with oil) produce VOC emissions the moment they are applied and can even continue to produce them long after the paint has dried, while acrylic-based paints or latex paints (that can be diluted with water) don’t contain any. |

Nos objectifs environnementaux
 To always offer you environmentally-safe products
Since 2010, we offer water-based VOC-free paints or containing very few VOCs exclusively, in accordance to the Canadian environmental standards in effect. All our other products are also in accordance to Environment Canada’s standards. Our goal is to gradually replace traditional products with their green equivalents as soon as they are available on the market.
Persuade our suppliers to develop and offer you more green products
We give priority to buying environmentally friendly products and we incite our suppliers to develop a green line and also to offer these products at more competitive prices which in return allow us to promote them with our customers.
